The building at 8 City Road in London was refurbished with all modern facilities with offices for rent and therefore required the facility of securing doors, restricting access to the various floors with the benefit of having the flexibility to change access rights when required if a tenant moved out of the building.

To achieve the specification requirements the architect wanted the doors and offices to have a modern look and to use access control to control the movement of the users in the building. The Securefast electric lock range was chosen so that the locking element was morticed in the door but controlled from the secure side by a card reader whilst maintaining immediate egress from the inside with one action of the lever handle. Using an electric lock system meets that clients do not have to worry about lost keys or the cost of replacing keys.
