Securefast Be-Tech Virtual Network Locksets have been fitted on the £1.03 million refurbishment project to upgrade Birmingham Coroners Court in Steelhouse Lane and merge the Youth Court which is next door which had six court rooms over four floors. The new development now has three court rooms for inquests as against the previous building that only had one and office space for training and meetings.

Southmead Hospital is a large public National Health Service hospital, situated in the area of Southmead in the northern suburbs of Bristol. The new development costing £430 million, have fitted the Securefast SBL365 Fire Rated Mechanical Digital Lock throughout the hospital as they wanted a lever operated device that could cope with the high level of traffic that would use the doors on a regular basis.

The Donna Louise Hospice for Children & Young People provides a lifeline to hundreds of families across Staffordshire and South Cheshire who are facing every parent’s worst nightmare; the heart-breaking knowledge that they will almost certainly outlive their child.The new Donna House Trust building in Stoke-on-Trent required an access control system that allowed staff free movement around the building but also allowed visitors access to certain areas without compromising the security for both staff and patients. The Entra+ system provided for the needs of the hospice with control of the lifts to each floor, privacy on clinical rooms and access to the main entrance doors.
EDUCATION - Croydon College

Croydon College is a further education college, located in East Croydon area of the London it is made up of three separate colleges, the Croydon Sixth Form College, Croydon Skills & Enterprise College and Croydon Higher Education College.To increase their security the college chose to use the Securefast Deedlock Electro Magnetic Locks on a number of doors to control the flow of student and allow staff access to all areas. LAW AND ORDER - Central Criminal Courts Dublin

The new Criminal Courts complex built adjacent to the Phoenix Park at a cost of €120m and covering 25.000 sq feet, is one of Dublin’s most impressive buildings, which will be used by many criminals over the coming years. The circular shaped building was designed by Dublin architects Henry J Lyons and took over 30 months to build and is a landmark that gives the impression of a Roman auditorium. The complex includes 22 state-of-the-art courtrooms and the new home to the Court of Criminal Appeal, Special Criminal Court, Central Criminal Court and the District Courts. The layout of the eleven-story building has been designed where suspects, victims, judges, lawyers, jurors, members of the public and the media will not meet until they enter a courtroom, which is believed to be the first of its kind in the world setting the trend for other courthouses. Facilities include video-conferencing, digital recording, and electronic display of evidence.
COMMERCIAL - Eckland Lodge

Eckland Lodge is purpose-built building offering rented space to businesses. The modern building needed the flexibility of being able to programme access rights on proximity cards easily and when required if tenants vacated the building. It also needed to control access into the building as well as the allocated areas of the building for the tenants. To achieve the requirement of the specification the client chose to use the Securefast Virtual Network Smartlock system with their own choice of lever handle on the office doors.All the external doors where control either using automatic sliding doors into a reception area or by a Securefast proximity reader, with a Securefast exit button on the inside to vacate the building.The Securefast system allowed staff to control the access rights for the tenents from the adminstration office, including being able to use time zones and restricted access to various areas.
COMMERCIAL - 8 City Road,London

The building at 8 City Road in London was refurbished with all modern facilities with offices for rent and therefore required the facility of securing doors, restricting access to the various floors with the benefit of having the flexibility to change access rights when required if a tenant moved out of the building.To achieve the specification requirements the architect wanted the doors and offices to have a modern look and to use access control to control the movement of the users in the building. The Securefast electric lock range was chosen so that the locking element was morticed in the door but controlled from the secure side by a card reader whilst maintaining immediate egress from the inside with one action of the lever handle. Using an electric lock system meets that clients do not have to worry about lost keys or the cost of replacing keys.
STUDENT ACCOMODATION - Queens Steet Accomodation

The seven-story student accommodation block in Queen Street, Exeter includes a games room, study area and lounge on the ground floor with the student rooms designed with student living in mind on the upper floors. In was important that students felt safe within the building so Securefast Be-Tech access control Virtual Network locksets were fitted to each of the 151 bedrooms and also on a number of doors throughout the building to restrict access to non-residents.The main entrance into the building was fitted with an automatic door operator controlled by a reader on the secure side and with a large exit button on the inside for easy of vacating the building. This allowed students to use the same proximity card for access into the building, their individual bedroom and all the facility areas.

St Giles Nursing Home, owned by Restful Homes, has forty-four en-suite bedrooms over two floors for a variety of nursing care services. The modern purpose-built building is situated in Garretts Green on the Solihull-Birmingham border and needed staff to have both flexibility and security and therefore opted to use the Slimline Electro-Magnets and Key Pads supported by Securefast Power Supply Units.
RETAIL - Olympic Shopping Centre

The Olympic Shopping Centre at Stratford, London cost £1.5bn to build and was the flagship shopping centre of the 2012 London Olympic Games, situated next to the Olympic Park in Stratford it included many famous street names with London's first John Lewis department store east of Oxford Street, a huge flagship branch of Marks & Spencer and a major Waitrose supermarket, with almost 300 other retail units and a multiplex cinema.
