HEALTHCARE - Donna Louise Hospice uses Entra
Product: Entra+
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
The Donna Louise Hospice for Children & Young People provides a lifeline to hundreds of families across Staffordshire and South Cheshire who are facing every parent’s worst nightmare; the heart-breaking knowledge that they will almost certainly outlive their child.
The new Donna House Trust building in Stoke-on-Trent required an access control system that allowed staff free movement around the building but also allowed visitors access to certain areas without compromising the security for both staff and patients. The Entra+ system provided for the needs of the hospice with control of the lifts to each floor, privacy on clinical rooms and access to the main entrance doors.
The main entrance doors were controlled using a proximity reader to enter and the AEB15 DDA Press to Exit Button fitted on the inside with a ACP320/G Manual Call Point with a transparent cover to prevent accidental activation.
The lifts used the AEN2020 Entra+ Door controller and each stairwell door was fitted with a fire rated AEMSF300 Shear Electro-magnetic lock with a proximity reader on both sides to control access in both directions, again fitted with the ACP320/G MCP and also fitted into the fire alarm so that all doors are released on activation or the alarm.
Many of the Clinical Rooms used an AH111 Electric Release to secure the doors when closed with a proximity reader on the outside and a lever handle on the inside for immediate egress in one action.
A number of bedrooms had a Jack and Jill bathroom between them with the door secured by the fire rated AEMSF300 Shear Electro-magnet which was release by a single gang rocker switch with extended opening / closing and a FATE 654 LED Indicator fitted on a single gang above the door on both sides to indicate if the bathroom was vacant or in use.
