Graystacks is a student accommodation block located on Castle Boulevard, Nottingham for students attending the University of Nottingham or Nottingham Trent University and consists of 87 en-suite bedrooms which have been secured using Securefast ALSL951BW Smartlock access control system.
The main entrance doors and the roof terrace doors to each block of cluster flats have the Securefast AL900 Electric Release which has been fire rated for use on timber doors, and Securefast on-line ASL950M1W Single Door Controllers with associated products.
Securefast was chosen for it’s simple to use programmable system offering the flexibility of controlling students around the development and being able to update data on the system easily and efficiently and was supplied by Sapphire Hardware Limited of Sheffield and installed by Daemon Fire and Security based in Tamworth.
As with most projects cost was important but at the same time the aesthetic appearance was also a high priority and therefore the AL900 Electric Release was able to offer a product that was fire rated, could be linked to the access control system, offered a fail-safe or fail-secure feature and had a high holding force of 1000 lbs (454kgf / 4,448N) to withstand abuse or misuse.
The ‘Graystacks Project’ is a path finding development of student town houses which was a project that began about two or three years ago. The development offers a picturesque setting overlooking the banks of the stunning canal side in Lenton.
